Led by the MCE, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Works Engineers, Assembly staff, National Security, and supported by media houses within the municipality, the team toured affected high-risk areas including Amanfrom, Cooler Junction, Wawase, and Obomeng Besease to assess the extent of environmental degradation and associated health hazards.
In collaboration with Nana Effah Opinamang III, reclamation efforts have already begun. Chiefs of Wawase indicated that at least three lives have been lost in abandoned pits — a tragic reminder of the urgent need for action. The Assembly has pledged its full commitment to restoring these devastated lands.
All hands must be on deck. Let us unite to reclaim and protect our environment for present and future generations.
