Hukumar Tsaron Makamashin Nukiliya ta Amurka (NNSA) da Rundunar Sojin Ruwa ta ƙasar sun kammala kera samfurin farko na W76 Mk4B reentry body, wanda ake amfani da shi wajen kare kan makamin nukiliya yayin da yake sake shiga sararin samaniyar Duniya. An kammala aikin ne kusan watanni uku kafin lokacin da aka tsara.
Sabon Mk4B zai kasance wani muhimmin ɓangare na makaman nukiliyar da ake harbawa daga jiragen ruwa masu ɗauke da makamai masu linzami. Shirin ya tanadi maye gurbin tsarin Mk4A na dukkan makaman W76-1/Mk4A da W76-2/Mk4A da ke cikin ajiyar makaman nukiliyar Amurka zuwa sabon tsarin Mk4B.
Sandia National Laboratories ce ke jagorantar haɗa tsarin tare da kula da ƙirar wasu muhimman sassan da ba na nukiliya ba. Todd Simmermacher, wani jami’in Sandia da ke kula da harkokin dakile barazanar nukiliya, ya ce aikin na tabbatar da cewa dukkan buƙatun fasaha sun cika kuma tsarin ya samu cancantar amfani.
Sandia na aiki tare da Los Alamos National Laboratory da Lockheed Martin Space, waɗanda su ma ke taka rawa wajen ƙira da haɓaka tsarin. NNSA da Rundunar Sojin Ruwa sun yi amfani da hanyoyin samar da kayayyaki da aka riga aka kafa a Kansas City National Security Campus, Pantex Plant da Lockheed Martin Space, lamarin da ya taimaka wajen kammala wasu sassan aikin kafin lokacin da aka tsara.
Mai kula da NNSA, Brandon Williams, ya ce kammala samfurin farko kafin lokaci ya nuna ƙudurin hukumar na hanzarta samar da kayan aikin da ake buƙata domin ƙarfafa ƙarfin hana amfani da makaman nukiliya na Amurka. Ya ƙara da cewa kasancewarsa tsohon jami’in rundunar jiragen ruwa masu amfani da makamashin nukiliya ya ba shi fahimtar muhimmancin ɓangaren makaman nukiliyar da ake ɗauka a teku wajen tabbatar da damar Amurka ta mayar da martani idan aka kai mata hari na farko.
